📊✏️ Wednesday – CLOSED CAMPUS
Due to MOCK STAAR testing, Wednesday will be a Closed Campus.
Our 5th graders will take the Science assessment, and there will be 🚫 no visitors, 🚫 no lunch guests, and 🚫 no drop-offs allowed. Thank you for helping us provide a focused testing environment.

🍪 Cookie Dough Fundraiser Update
We’ve been granted an extension! All fundraiser money is now due no later than Monday, 2/23 by 9:30 a.m. Please be sure everything is turned in by the deadline.

🎉 Looking Ahead – Texas Public Schools Week
Next week we celebrate Texas Public Schools Week! Dress-up themes are listed in the Week at a Glance flyer, and we’ll wrap up the celebration with our annual Family Picnic on Thursday from 10:30–1:10 🧺🌞.

Students can participate in daily dress-up themes as we celebrate kindness across campus. Be sure to check the flyer in the WAG for details!

💚 Black History Month – Dress-Up Tuesday
On Tuesday, students are encouraged to Wear Green to “Express Your Pride!”

📊✏️ MOCK STAAR Testing – Tuesday
Tuesday is the first of three MOCK STAAR dates. Grades 3–6 will take the Reading Assessment.
🚫 Please note: Tuesday will be a CLOSED CAMPUS—no visitors, lunch guests, or drop-offs will be allowed.

🍪 Spring Cookie Dough Fundraiser – Final Week!
All fundraiser money is due no later than Friday, 2/20. We must submit our final totals to the company, so please make sure all money is turned in on time.

We are in the second week of our fundraiser and need LOTS of support! These funds help support our students and campus, so please help by selling and sharing cookie orders. Every order counts—thank you! 🙌

❤️🖤💚 Black History Month – Dress-Up Tuesday
On Tuesday, February 10th, students are encouraged to Wear Red ❤️ to Honor Perseverance as part of our Black History Month dress-up theme.

📅 Thursday, February 12th – Big Day!
🍽️ 1st & 4th Grade Families: Thank you for helping with the sponsored teacher luncheon. The SignUp Genius was shared by classroom teachers via Class Dojo.
💃🕺 That evening, join us for our annual PTA Sweethearts Dance 💕—a fun favorite for our school community!

I’m excited to announce that our Spring Campus-Wide Fundraiser with ClubsChoice Cookie Dough officially kicks off TODAY! 🎉

📬 Students are bringing home their order packets and order forms today, so be sure to check backpacks this afternoon.

❤️🖤💚 February is National Black History Month
Throughout the month, we will be honoring and learning about the important contributions and history of Black Americans.

👕🎨 Tuesday Dress-Up Days
Each Tuesday in February will be a special dress-up day! Please see the flyer in the newsletter for themes and details.

💯 Monday, 2/2 – 100th Day of School
Students are encouraged to dress like they are 100 years old or wear something with 100 items as we celebrate 100 days of learning and growth!

💙 National School Counselors Week (Feb. 2–6)
We are so proud to celebrate our amazing counselor, Mrs. Vela 🌟. Thank you for all you do to support our students and school community!

🚌 5th Grade Field Trip – Friday, 2/6
Our 5th graders will be heading out for a special learning experience to wrap up the week.

We have a lighter week ahead, but a few important updates and celebrations to share with our families!

🥶⏰ 2-Hour Delay – Monday Morning
Due to the freeze in Corpus Christi, the district has announced a 2-hour delay for Monday.
➡️ Elementary classes will begin at 9:50 a.m.
➡️ Buses will also run on a 2-hour delay
Please plan accordingly and stay warm and safe!

💯 Monday, February 2nd marks our 100th Day of School—a fun milestone celebrating 100 days of learning and growth!

💙 National School Counseling Week | Feb. 2–6
We will also celebrate National School Counseling Week and want to give a huge shout-out to our incredible counselor, Mrs. Vela 🌟. We are so thankful for her dedication, kindness, and the positive impact she has on our students and campus every single day!

🇺🇸 No School Monday (1/19)
We will observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day as we honor Dr. King’s legacy of service and equality.

📊✏️ MAP Testing This Week
Most students will participate in MAP testing throughout the week. Please check the WAG calendar for specific testing days, subjects, and grade levels. Getting plenty of rest and arriving on time will help students feel confident and ready!

🐝📚 Metro E Spelling Bee – Friday (1/23)
We are excited to celebrate our students at the Metro E Spelling Bee! The event will be live streamed, and the link will be shared right here on our Metro E Facebook page, so families can cheer on participants from anywhere.

We have a busy and exciting week ahead filled with special moments and important reminders!

📸 Wednesday, January 14th is picture day for Clubs, Classes, and our 6th Grade Panoramic—lots of smiles will be captured as we preserve these memories!

📝 Metro E Families: Please remember that Letters of Intent for the 2026–2027 school year are due this Wednesday, January 14th. Be sure to get those turned in on time!

🌌🚌 On Friday, January 16th, our 5th grade students will be heading out on a field trip to the planetarium for an out-of-this-world learning experience!

🇺🇸❤️ After a full week, we will observe a 3-day weekend in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There will be no school on Monday, January 19th as we reflect on Dr. King’s legacy of service, equality, and kindness.
